STEM新增8大專業(yè)領(lǐng)域
美國大學一般會在規(guī)定的STEM類目里，將自己學校的個別專業(yè)操作申請為STEM專業(yè)，對應畢業(yè)生也將擁有12+24個月的三年OPT資格。
非STEM專業(yè)的學生只能申請到一年OPT，一年內(nèi)如果無法抽中H-1B工簽就必須離開美國。
此次STEM新政主要是增加新的專業(yè)領(lǐng)域，具體新增專業(yè)如下：

3、Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering Technology/Technician 機電一體化、機器人與自動化工程技術(shù)/技術(shù)員
